| Since hot and cold temperatures are a very
important part of the documentation required for the food industry, a
wireless temperature probe was developed by FoodHorizon to automatically
transfer temperature data to a PDA. This provides accuracy and
mobility for operations. The temperature probe is connected by a "K" connector to a
Bluetooth Transceiver. The transceiver transmits data
directly to a PDA without the transcription errors and timing concerns
normally associated with manual data entry. There is no worry about
transcription errors when transferring data , nor is there a worry about
losing data.
Sentry9000
The Sentry9000 systems for automating data collection utilizes the BTTP. The Sentry9000 systems have alarms and alerts that are generated when
out of limits temperature readings occur, and a Corrective Action form appears on the
PDA screen. The data is immediately sent to a server where it is stored
and is displayed on the client's web site. This Incident is linked to the Data Detail form as well as the
Corrective Action form that was generated. Email messages, cell phone
messages and email pager messages can be sent to designated personnel
when an alarm is generated.
Sentry9000.SFA
is the Sentry9000
system that has been developed for the School Food Authorities to aid in
providing reliable data for the HACCP documentation now required in
school cafeterias. The Sentry9000.SFA program follows the
guidelines published by the USDA, and by the NFSMI, National Food Safety
Management Institute, at the University of Mississippi under the auspices
of the USDA.
Food Horizon UK, headquartered in Surrey,
England is a business associate of FoodHorizon Inc. The only program
available for digitizing data in the UK Food Service Industry is
Sentinel. It is a joint effort
between both companies. Food Horizon UK developed the material for the
program based on the requirements of the UK Regulatory Authority for a HACCP-like documentation program for the UK food
service industry. FoodHorizon Inc. developed the
Sentinel software and BTTP hardware. Included is our Digital Readout Software for the PocketPC, which provides assignment of different locations
and different components with a location.
This is for storage and reporting of data. A location is selected and
the temperature is recorded on the PDA. It appears as a 1" high number
on the PDA screen. The data can then be downloaded to an Excel
spreadsheet. |
